Once a death has occurred, you want to start managing the Pre-Need case as an At-Need case.

Click on Pre-Need and click on At-Need in the dropdown to move the Pre-Need case to an At-need case.

And for an Imminent case simply click on Imminent and click on At-Need in the dropdown to move the Imminent case to an At-need case.
