To open a browser window in incognito mode, follow these steps based on popular web browsers.

Google Chrome:

1. Open Google Chrome by clicking on its icon on your desktop or in your taskbar.

2. Once Chrome is open, you can open an incognito window in a couple of different ways:

- Press Ctrl + Shift + N on your keyboard (or Cmd + Shift + N on Mac).

- Click the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of the Chrome window to open the menu, then select New Incognito Window.

Mozilla Firefox:

1. Launch Mozilla Firefox by clicking its icon on your desktop or in your taskbar.

2. To open a private browsing window in Firefox:

- Press Ctrl + Shift + P on your keyboard (or Cmd + Shift + P on Mac).

- Click the three horizontal lines (hamburger menu) in the top-right corner of the Firefox window, then select New private window.

Microsoft Edge:

1. Open Microsoft Edge by clicking on its icon on your desktop or in your taskbar.

2. To start an InPrivate browsing session in Edge:

- Press Ctrl + Shift + N on your keyboard (or Cmd + Shift + N on Mac).

- Click the three horizontal dots (ellipsis) in the top-right corner of the Edge window, then choose New InPrivate Window:

Safari (Mac):

1. Launch Safari by clicking on its icon in your dock or Applications folder.

2. To open a private browsing window in Safari:

- Click File in the menu bar.

- Select New Private Window.

Once you've followed these steps, a new browser window will open in incognito or private mode, which helps protect your privacy by not storing your browsing history, cookies, or other data after you close the window. You can use this mode for more private and secure browsing and it often helps with issues related to browsing caching.
