Reports: Business Insights and Financial Reports

The Reports section gives funeral home admins a view of business performance and downloadable financial data, all in one place. This article explains how to use both tabs.

1. Opening Reports

In the top navigation bar, click the menu that contains your name and select Reports. On mobile, open the navigation drawer and tap Reports.

The page opens on the Business Insights tab by default. Use the tabs at the top of the page to switch between Business Insights and Financial Reports.


2. Business Insights

Business Insights gives you an at-a-glance summary of your funeral home's performance for any date range you choose.

Setting the date range

At the top of the Business Insights tab, choose a date range using the preset buttons:

  • This Month - the current calendar month (default when you first open the page)

  • Last Month - the previous calendar month

  • Last 30 Days - a rolling 30-day window ending today

  • This Quarter - the current calendar quarter

  • This Year - the current calendar year

  • Custom Range - opens a date picker so you can set any start and end date

All KPI cards and charts update immediately when you change the date range.

Reading the KPI cards

Net Revenue and Cases Created appear as larger featured cards at the top of the page. Each is paired with a trend chart showing how that metric has changed over the selected period.

  • Net Revenue - total payments collected within the date range, excluding refunds. If refunds occurred in the period, a line below the card value shows the refund total and count.

  • Cases Created - total cases created within the date range, regardless of case type or how the case was started.

Below these two cards, six additional tiles appear:

Comparison indicators

Each KPI card shows how the current period compares to the equivalent prior period. For example, if you are viewing "This Month," the comparison is against last month.

  • Net Revenue and Cases Created use color: a green arrow means the value is up from the prior period; a red arrow means it is down.

  • All other cards show a gray color and indicate the change by the directional arrow.

  • If there is no data for the equivalent prior period, the comparison is hidden.

Trend charts

The Net Revenue Trend and Case Volume charts appear alongside the Net Revenue and Cases Created cards. The time bucketing on the charts adjusts automatically:

  • Date ranges up to 56 days will show one data by day

  • 57 to 180 days: data shown by week

  • More than 180 days: data shown by month


3. Financial Reports

Financial Reports provides downloadable CSV exports for row-level financial detail. Click the Financial Reports tab to switch from Business Insights.

Choosing a report type

Use the type selector at the top of the Financial Reports tab to choose what kind of data you want:

Setting the date range

The Financial Reports tab has its own date range selector. Presets include: This Month, Last Month, This Quarter, Last Quarter, This Year, Last Year, and Custom Range. The table updates when you change the range.

Filtering

Click the filter icon to open the filter panel on the right side of the screen. The available filters depend on which report type is selected. Common filter options include payment status, invoice status, payment method, and need type. Apply as many filters as you need; they work together. To remove all filters at once, click Reset.

Adjusting columns

Click the columns icon to open the Columns panel. You can search for a column by name or hide columns you don't need. Your column settings are remembered per report type. To return to the default column layout, click Reset .

Reordering

Columns can be re-ordered by dragging and dropping them within the report table.

Downloading a CSV

Once the table shows the data you want, click Download CSV.

  • If the report has fewer than 1,000 rows, the file downloads immediately.

  • If the report is larger, it is generated in the background. You will see it appear in the Generated Reports section once it is ready.

The Download CSV button is disabled when the table is empty.

Generated Reports

The Generated Reports section below the main table shows previously generated files for your funeral home. Each row shows the report type, date range, generation status (generating, ready, or failed), and a download link once the file is ready.


Frequently asked questions

  • The date range I need isn't in the presets. Can I use a custom range? Yes. On both the Business Insights and Financial Reports tabs, select Custom Range to open a date picker and set any start and end date.

  • Why does my Net Revenue card show a red arrow even though revenue went up? The comparison is against the equivalent prior period. For example, if you are viewing "This Month" in a month that is only a few days in, the prior period is the same number of days from last month. Try switching to "Last Month" for a full-month comparison.

  • I clicked Download CSV but nothing happened. What should I check? If the table is empty (no rows for the selected filters and date range), the Download CSV button is disabled. Try widening the date range or removing filters. If the download still doesn't start, the report may be generating in the background - check the Generated Reports section.

  • How current is the data in Business Insights? Data in Business Insights reflects activity in your Parting Pro account up to the current date. There is no manual refresh needed; the data updates on each page load.

  • I want to see data for a staff member's individual performance. Can I filter by staff? Staff-level breakdowns are not available. All Reports data includes all business activity for your funeral home as a whole.
