Creating an Obituary from a Parting Pro Case

The directions below should be used if 'Obituary creation toggle setting' is disabled in the Obituary Settings found in the Integrations section. Following these directions will allow you to create an obituary on a case-by-case basis.

Note: Our Obituary Integration is only available for Parting Pro website partners at this time. If your website is not hosted by Parting Pro these directions will not be available for you or your team.


How to Enable Obituary Creation on a Case-by-Case Basis

Within the Case Details of each case, you will find the following section and subsections:

  • Obituary information

    • Obituary details

    • Flower delivery details

Navigate to the 'Obituary details' subsection

Toggle 'Enable obituary creation' so it's highlighted indicating that it is now active

Once the Enable Automatic Daily Obituary Creation setting is enabled, Parting Pro will send information to generate an obituary creation at 9 PM EST, as long as all the necessary information about the informant and decedent is collected.

Note: It is important to recognize the timestamp of 9:00 PM EST for obituary creation using this method. It is possible for duplicate obituary entries to happen if you login to your obituary dashboard and create a memorial there as well instead of waiting for this entry to be created at the dedicated time.


Necessary Information Required to Trigger Obituary Creation

The following case details fields are required to trigger the obituary creation for a case. If data is missing from one or more of these fields, the obituary will not be created.

Informant Fields:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email

Decedent Fields:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Date of birth

  • Date of death


Confirming Successful Obituary Creation

A populated URL field confirms the successful creation and publication of the obituary, and this link can then be shared with loved ones.

Confirming the obituary has been created:

  1. Locate the URL Field: Check the field below the 'Enabled Obituary Creation' toggle.

  2. Check for the URL: This field will automatically display the link to the individual’s obituary page if the obituary has been successfully created and published.
