Add an Urn After Online Checkout

Learn how to help a family choose and pay for an urn when it was not selected during online checkout in Parting Pro.

Families typically select an urn during online checkout as part of their arrangements. In some cases, a family may complete checkout before choosing an urn or may want additional time or guidance.

This article explains how to follow up with the family, share urn options, and send an invoice for payment using Parting Pro.


When to Use This

Use this approach if:

  • A family completed online checkout without selecting an urn

  • A family asked to review urn options after arrangements were completed

  • You need to follow up on urn selection without reopening checkout

There is currently no standalone checkout for ordering only an urn. This process allows you to complete the urn selection separately while keeping everything documented in the case.


How Urn Ordering Works After Checkout

When an urn is selected during checkout, ordering happens automatically after payment.

When the urn is selected after checkout:

  • The family reviews urn options

  • An invoice is created or updated and sent to the family for payment

  • Once payment is complete, the urn order is placed automatically

  • A confirmation note is added to the case

The ordering process is the same. The timing of the urn selection is the only difference.


Sharing Urn Options With the Family

You can share the following link with the family so they can review available urn options:

This link is for viewing options only.

Ask the family to reply with the name of the urn they would like to purchase.


Sending the Follow Up Email From a Case

The easiest way to guide the family through urn selection is by using Custom Outbound Emails from within the case.

Using a Saved Email Template

From the Emails tab in the case, you can:

  • Select the family’s email address

  • Choose your saved urn selection template

  • Customize the message if needed

  • Send the email directly from the case

This keeps all communication organized and tied to the case.

Subject: Urn selection

Hello {{Family First Name}},

Thank you for completing the online arrangements. We wanted to follow up regarding the urn selection.

Urns are often selected during checkout, but it is completely okay if you wanted more time to review your options.

You can view the available urn options using the link below:

Once you have reviewed the options, please reply to this email with the name of the urn you would like us to add to your arrangements.

After that, we will send you an invoice so you can complete payment. Once payment is complete, we will place the order for you.

What Happens Next

After the family replies with their selection:

  • An invoice is created or updated and sent to the family

  • Once payment is complete, the urn order is placed

  • A confirmation note is added to the case
