How to Create a Contract

Step-by-step guide to create a contract and link it to invoices before sending to families for signature.

Creating a Contract from the Contracts Tab

📌 Required to send a contract:

  • Decedent name

  • At least one recipient with name + email

  • At least one invoice with at least one line item

    • Even if that item is $0, you can send the contract for signature!

How to create a new contract

  1. Go to the Contracts tab of any case

  2. Click Add contract

  3. You’ll be taken to the Edit contract screen

Here you can:

  • Rename the contract (optional)

  • View decedent info (editable in Case Details only)

  • Add recipients who will sign the contract

  • Assign a funeral director's signature to apply to the contracts

  • Create/add one or multiple invoices to populate line items onto the contract

Once you've successfully created the contract, you can save it by clicking the Back to case button or send it for signature by clicking the Next button.

Creating $0 Contracts

You can associate $0 invoices to a contract as a way to collect contract signatures even if you do not need to collect payment. Any invoice with at least one line item is considered valid, even if the total amount is $0.

Once the invoice is added to the contract and you click Next, you'll be presented with an alert window asking to confirm that you want to proceed with a $0 contract. Clicking Proceed will take you to the next step where you can continue with sending the contract for signature.
