Accidentally decrease the balance due when you recorded a refund? Good news - you can adjust whether a refund should reduce the balance due or not reduce the balance due even after the refund has already been created.

Note: You must have Administrator access in your dashboard to modify refunds.

How It Works

  1. Go to the Payments tab within the case and scroll to the Refund section.

  2. Locate the the refund youโ€™d like to update.

  3. From the three dot menu next to the refund, select Modify refund setting.

  4. A modal window will appear, allowing you to switch between:

    • Yes โ†’ The refund reduces the balance due.

    • No โ†’ The refund does not reduce the balance due.

  5. Confirm your selection. The balance due on the case will update accordingly.

Notes & Limitations

  • Access: Only Admins can use the Modify refund setting option.

  • Miscellaneous Payments: This option is not available for miscellaneous payment refunds, since they do not affect the balance due and do not have the yes/no balance reduction option at the time of recording.

  • Accuracy: Always double-check the balance after modifying a refund setting to ensure it reflects the intended adjustment.
