When creating and sending invoices to families, you may notice that you do not see the credit card fee (payment processing fee) added to the invoice.

You do NOT need to manually add this fee to your invoices, as it will be automatically added for you. This fee is automatically added in the following situations:

Follow along to see how the fee is added in these two situations:

When the family pays the invoice online

Once you create and send an invoice, you'll seen on the case PAYMENT tab that the total does not include a payment processing/credit card fee:

This is total is simply the subtotal + applicable tax. The payment processing fee will be added once the family opens the invoice.

On the family's side, when they open the invoice from the email they have received, they are brought to a payment screen:

As you can see, the payment processing fee line item is added to the invoice, and the total balance due is updated to reflect the addition of that fee. The family proceeds to submit payment for the total, including the fee that was automatically added.

When the funeral home processes the card for payment

If the funeral home needs to process a credit or debit payment on the invoice for the family, the processing fee is automatically added as well.

Once you've created the invoice and assigned a recipient, navigate to the main PAYMENT tab of the case and scroll down to the invoice. Click on the three little dots next to the invoice payment status, and select Record Payment.

The record payment screen will pop up. Since you are processing the card for payment (actually charging the card at this time), you'll want to toggle ON the "process the card for payment" option:

Once you toggle this ON, you'll see a breakdown appear that shows the net total, payment processing fee, and gross total. The system is automatically adding the credit card fee for you here, and giving you the total charge amount:

You can then enter the card information and click the Record payment button at the bottom:

After payments are processed, you can also see all processing fees on transactions in Parting Pro by navigating to your Payments page:

and clicking on a particular payment to see the details:
